Where should I start at with this post? There are so many rail related issues on my mind currently. The Ohio Central had made it offical, after this NHRS meeting, there will be no more passenger trains on the OC. This explains why the F9's went to the CP. Now the big question is what will happen to steam operations........
I have post some new pictures on my website of some BNSF ES44AC locomotives.

Check them out and the rest of the galleries there.

So much for trying to use my Blackberry to update my blog. For some reason, my Blackberry could not hold all of my posting I typed up on that little keyboard. Oh well. I will figure out a way to post from it soon.
On to the good stuff.
This past weekend, I was able to find CSX 9992 at Collinwood yard. 9992 is a ex Amtrak F40 locomotive number 390. Yep, one of my favortive models. I was just happy to get pictures of this unit.
Enjoy!

This is my first update from my Blackberry device. I wonder how this will turn out on my site. Its funny how technology will allow me to up date up website while sitting in on a very boring meeting. That is besides the the point. On to some train talk!
Yesterday on the way home, I came across a NS coal train, kind of. BNSF must have a coal contract somewhere on NS. This unit coal train has an ex-Conrail SD60i with two BN SD70mac's in run 8 trying to lift these cars up from the ex- NYC Water level route. Th

Well it's offical, the Ohio CentraL Railroad had sold its F9 units 6313 and 6307 to CP Rail. Also report, CP has purchased 9 passenger cars. Since the OC has not really ran passenger specials on an reocurring basic, these assets are just idle items in a world where your worth is figured by how much you make, not take away. Add in the cost to insure this equipment and folks who rides in them, you are looking at a big bill. I guess Jerry had his fun with his verison of running PRR passenger trains. Just as long as the OC keeps it steam engines, we are cool.

Finally, spring is here, well kind of. It is still cold and they say it might snow some today and maybe into the night some. Hopefully, this will be the last of old man winter until the next snow season.
Some updates that I know about. BNSF is getting some SD70ace's. For months now, it has been a rumor that BNSF would go to the new EMD for locomotives. That has finally happened. I am not really sure how many are expected, but I think it is in the range of 75 units. MRL has all of their 70's working hard out there in Montana.
The website is still not up to date. I am not even sure when the last update was made with new content. That will soon change, thanks to the weather.
I am looking forward to the NHRS show this year that will be hosted by the Ohio Central. There seems that details are still in the works. Hopefully, they will post some information soon.

Once and a blue monn, I love to day dream about what I would do if I hit the Mega Millions. One of the thing I would do is purchase my very own private passenger train. Yes indeed. My train would consist of the following equipment: A pair of F40's, baggage car, 4-5 coaches, a lounge car, one full diner, 4 sleepers, dome car and a observation car to bring up there rear. I think that would be one hell of a train. I don't think that Amtrak even runs a passenger train with that many sleepers on it. Watch out North America, here comes the Nate train. When I am not using the train, I guess I could lease it out to companies for trips or groups for outings. Here is another wild thought, I could purchase a SD70ACe to save on fuel and maintance cost. Fans and crews would love that.
Anways, enough of daydreaming. Here is a link to a site that I love to watch. This site is about a guy that saved a F40 from the scrap lines, Amtrak F40 231. http://www.f40phr231.org/index.html
If interested, I have a small section of F40's on my website located at http://www.clevelandtrains.net/ngallery/

Happy New Year! I know I am about 3 weeks late, oh well.
If you have been the website, www.clevelandtrains.net lately, you will find that I have done some house keeping. Instead of having all those links on the homepage, they are now located in the Photo Gallery section. Why there? Well first, it saves a lot of time for me to update the website. Instead of using some HTML editor, I can just upload my photos to the server through the software and within a few seconds they are ready for the world to view. Second, it is a photo database that allows me to keep track of photo details. So it works out for me.
I have not heard much about the MRL SD70's lately. Trains magazine is doing a update on this units. Stay tuned.
NS is running the new EMD's. I am keeping my eye open for these babies.
Well, I should get back to work now.
